CREATING A WELCOMING BRAND FOR A CO-ED FOOTBALL LEAGUE
For the Sunday Best project, I had the pleasure of crafting a brand identity that perfectly encapsulates the modern, inclusive spirit of this Liverpool-based co-ed Sunday football league. The challenge was to design a brand that felt vibrant, fun, and approachable—something that would resonate with a diverse group of players, where camaraderie and enjoyment take priority over competition.
Drawing inspiration from vintage American sports branding, the charm of religious signage with bold church typography, and a personal touch by incorporating the league owner’s German Shepherd dog, Ralph, as the mascot, I blended these unique elements into a cohesive visual identity. The result was a brand that feels both nostalgic and fresh, with a distinct personality that perfectly mirrors the league’s welcoming atmosphere.
The tagline, “Reimagining Sunday Football,” became the cornerstone of the branding, encapsulating the essence of the league—fun, exercise, friendship, and inclusivity. The final design reflects these values, creating an identity that stands out on jerseys, merchandise, and social assets, while remaining approachable and community-focused.
