REBRANDING A FOOTBALL ICON FOR A NEW GENERATION
For the rebranding of the iconic British comic strip character 'Roy of the Rovers', Mundial Magazine enlisted my skills to design a fresh logo to coincide with the reboot of this beloved football hero for a new series of books and graphic novels. The challenge was to respect the character’s storied legacy while also making sure the design would resonate with modern readers.
My approach was to pay homage to Roy’s classic identity, blending traditional elements with contemporary touches that would appeal to today’s audience. The resulting logo balances nostalgic and innovative design, capturing the essence of Roy’s adventures both on and off the pitch. This redesigned logo serves as a cornerstone for the revitalised series, seamlessly connecting the classic appeal of Roy of the Rovers with a new era of storytelling.
