CREATING A PLAYFUL BOOK THAT BLENDS NOSTALGIA WITH HUMOUR

 

Classic.Retro.Modern. approached me to design a 100-page book that features vintage car advertisements paired with amusing captions by the magazine's editor. The challenge was to create a design that blended the nostalgia of classic car adverts with a modern twist, ensuring each page was not only visually engaging but also aligned with the magazine's established identity.

 

I drew inspiration from traditional advertising styles, creating a layout that highlighted the charm of the original adverts while complementing the witty commentary. By carefully balancing vintage aesthetics with contemporary design principles, I crafted a book that feels both timeless and fresh. The result is a visually appealing and entertaining piece that captures the essence of classic car culture with a playful edge —an engaging blend of design, humour, and nostalgia.
