Jobs like this just don't come along every day. Since the middle of 2021, I've been given the chance to art direct and design a brand-new classic car magazine, and I mean really design one: no faux-heritage branding, no British racing green emblems, no tired clichés. The editorial team at Classic.Retro.Modern. wanted to do something new and interesting, bringing a modern design sensibility to a retro subject. The feedback from readers and social media followers has been overwhelmingly positive and in a short period of time we've built a reputation as the type of magazine that is unafraid to use a new design language in this sector, put something unusual on the cover, or devote ten pages to an obscure Czech luxury car from the early 1990s.
